Especially for illustrated co-productions, Tekstkader often accompanies the entire process, from translation to print-ready pdfs and files. But even if you only want to outsource a part of the process - editorial support, translation, press preparation, correction or layout - you can also rely on us.
Over the years, Tekstkader has translated hundreds of books on a wide variety of topics, for diverse audiences and from different languages. Culinary titles from English, French and German we usually translate them ourselves; for other translations we work with experienced freelance translators. Naturally, we ensure that the texts are correct in terms of content and easy to read, and where necessary (think: ingredients!) adapted to the Dutch and Belgian situation. The most common languages from which Tekstkader translates are English, French and German, but other languages are also possible.
Apart from good content (translated), your book or text should also be consistent in style and aimed at the target audience. We carefully go through each text, possibly using your house rules. The proof is then carefully corrected, paying extra attention to a neat layout. Unsightly hyphenations, holes and other unsightly issues are avoided. Editing and correction can be carried out either as a joint or as separate assignments.
For co-productions, Tekstkader works with highly experienced DTP professionals. They know everything about InDesign, Quark-Xpress, Illustrator and Photoshop and have extensive experience in making books. They take pride in delivering beautifully finished ‘typesetting’. Service and flexibility are also their top high priority, so any correction PDF never takes long to arrive.
Tekstkader has produced hundreds of books for (international) publishers and other clients, magazines and worked on other types of texts. In almost every category and on just about every subject, from origami to world history, from children's encyclopaedia to nature guide and from knitting book to travel guide, Tekstkader has once translated, edited and formatted a book. The focus is currently on the following categories:
